PROTECTING MOTHER EARTH
We’re all concerned about climate change and our impact on the environment, sometimes we may not want to accept that something we enjoy may be contributing to it. Unfortunately; the hospitality and wine industries around the world play a contributing role in greenhouse emissions. However; a new and upcoming company is challenging the norm and starting to make an impact.

CUSTOMER THINK
CustomerThink is the world's largest online community dedicated to customer-centric business strategy. (USA)
Although not an Australian site, it has a global slant and it is literally over flowing with useful information related to the management of customer service.
It is free to subscribe to and you have the option to select resources you are interested in.
I regularly use Qantas as a sample case study in my classes, so it was interesting to read an article on the hidden costs of cutting customer experiences, which is exactly what the red roo has been doing for a number of years. Great read.
BUSINESS QUEENSLAND
As with most government websites this one is quite wordy. However, I like this site and use it because the information is down to earth and it provides sensible practical advice.
The content focuses attention towards small business and start ups, but is so relevant to managers in general. The scope of material is also quite broad.
The topic areas range from leadership and management to WHS, risk, legals, finance, staffing, marketing, recruitment and sustainability. If you teach a management unit, it's well worth a look in.
BUDGET ONE
Budget One describe themselves as the leading business planning, cash flow and business budgeting specialists in Australia.
This site is a small business focused at helping businesses budget, and that's what I like about this site, it's small, simple and local.
I use this to site to troll through their blog archive, they provide free articles on finance related topics written in plain English.
If you teach finance units you may find this site useful.
SAFE WORK AUSTRALIA
Safe Work Australia is a national policy body representing the interests of the all Australian governments, workers and employers. They aim to achieve healthier, safer and more productive workplaces. I like this site because it provides factual data and is a one stop shop full of free resources such as fact sheets , guides and codes of practice. If you teach WHS or Legal Requirements, it's ideal for you.

Link with management associations
Leadership and management are diverse and there are many associations that support and advocate for their sector.
Most associations provide access to news feeds, information on conferences & events and articles on innovation and the challenges facing leaders and their industry.
Many of these associations target memberships with businesses rather than the individual. So, while membership may be out of reach, it doesn't stop us actively engaging with them through their news feeds to maintain an awareness of what is happening in our industry.

INSTITUTE OF MANAGERS & LEADERS
The Institute of Managers and Leaders Australia and New Zealand (IML ANZ) is a nonprofit peak body association for management & leadership professionals. Membership

teamwork and conflict. Non members have access to the Leadership Matters

The AIHS is a place where the health and safety community of practitioners, professionals and leaders work together to advance Health and Safety standards and practice. The AHRI is a membership association for HR & people management professionals. They actually offer a reasonable student membership, however, individual membership is quite pricey, but if HR is a key teaching area it could be quite worthwhile. Non-members can subscribe to HRM online which has great content on recruitment, leadership, teamwork, conflict, and staffing.
